Inspired by structural wire rope engineering, this cuff features nine strands of heavy 10-gauge solid copper — twisted in groups of three, then counter-spun in the opposite direction to create a dense, herringbone-style cable weave that locks itself under tension and will never uncoil. The result is a piece with serious visual weight and a depth of texture that stops people mid-conversation. TIG-welded solid copper terminals, torch-annealed, and softly planished for a smooth, wearable finish.

Industrial Cable Engineering
Built with structural symmetry in mind, this piece uses a reverse-lay wire technique:

  • First Pass: Nine strands of solid 10 AWG copper are separated into three groups of three and tightly twisted in a single lay direction.
  • The Cable Spin: Those three twisted bundles are combined and spun under tension in the opposite direction. This counter-rotation locks the internal tension, creating a dense, herringbone-style cable weave that will not uncoil or loosen over time.

Fused Terminals & Hand-Planished Comfort
To anchor all nine strands permanently, the ends are TIG-welded into solid, rounded copper terminals with no solder or end caps. The entire assembly is torch-annealed and softly hammered between hardwood faces to shape the high ridges into a smooth, flush fit that won't grab arm hair or catch on clothes.

Key Details:

  • Material: Solid 10 AWG Pure Copper Wire
  • Construction: 9-Strand Counter-Lay Cable (3x3 reverse spin)
  • Joinery: TIG-welded heat-fused ends (no solder)
  • Comfort Finish: Softly planished between hardwood blocks for a smooth outer profile
  • Finish: Forced antiqued patina deepens the cable grooves; hand-buffed high-relief highlights

🖐 How to Find Your Size

  1. Wrap a piece of string or paper snugly (just slightly snug) around your wrist bone.

  2. Mark where the ends meet, then lay it flat against a ruler.

  3. Order your exact wrist measurement—don't add extra room. The 1-inch gap built into the cuff gives you the clearance you need to put it on.

🔧 Wearing & Adjusting

  • Putting it on: Roll the cuff on from the side of your wrist just above the bone. Don't yank it open to pull it straight over your arm.

  • Dialing in the fit: Give the cuff a gentle, firm squeeze once to set it to your wrist. Avoid bending it open and closed repeatedly so the copper stays rock-solid.

✨ Care & Maintenance

Keep your copper cuff looking its best with simple daily care:

  • Avoid Lotions & Oils: Moisture, harsh chemicals, body lotions, and skincare oils speed up oxidation and cause skin discoloration (greening). Put your cuff on after applying cosmetics.

  • Daily Wipe Down: After wearing, wipe the interior and exterior down with a soft, clean cloth to remove skin oils and sweat before storing.

  • Light Cleaning: If soiled, wash with mild dish soap and warm water using a soft-bristled brush (like a soft toothbrush) to clear buildup from the weave.

  • Rinse & Dry Thoroughly: Rinse completely with clean water, dry thoroughly with a towel, and buff with a soft cloth to restore shine.

Copper & Skin Oxidation

🌿 A Note on Copper & Skin Oxidation

Pure, solid copper naturally reacts with air, moisture, and your body’s unique chemistry (such as sweat and natural skin oils). Over time, this natural oxidation can leave a harmless, temporary greenish mark on the skin where the cuff rests.

  • Why It Happens: This green tint is copper carbonate — a safe, natural byproduct of pure copper reacting with micro-moisture, skin pH, or everyday products like soaps, lotions, and cologne. It is non-toxic, completely harmless, and easily washes away with regular soap and water.
  • Our Process: We seal every piece with a protective coat of microcrystalline wax to preserve the shine and slow down oxidation. However, depending on your body chemistry and wear habits, the wax will gradually wear off, allowing the copper to develop its own rich, natural character and patina.
  • Minimizing Greening: To keep skin marking to a minimum, keep your wrist dry, avoid wearing your cuff while applying lotions or cosmetics, and wipe the inside down with a clean, soft cloth after daily wear.
